How do I reissue an SSL certificate with your cPanel plugin?

Reissue active certificate under New tab

  • In your plugin SSL list, find the certificate you wish to reissue (it must have Active status), click on Active button and choose Reissue and install from the dropdown menu

  • If there is an active certificate installed for the same common name on this server, you will be asked if you want to replace the current certificate with the new one. If you think you might need the old certificate for some reason, please download the certificate first. This can be done using the “Download existing certificate” option. The certificate will be supplied in #PFX format (file containing certificate, Bundle and RSA private key). It will be downloaded to your computer. Once the download is complete, close the dialog window and proceed with reissue

  • Now you will be asked to confirm the administrative contact email address for the order and click Install Certificate to proceed further.

  • After this is done, you will be forwarded back to the Installed tab. The system will take 10-15 minutes to validate, issue and install your certificate. If the certificate has not been issued within 15 minutes, please contact our Support Team for assistance.

  • If there is no installed certificate for this common name, you will be forwarded straight to the administrative details page.

Reissue certificate already installed using cPanel plugin

  • Navigate to the Installed tab and choose the certificate you wish to have reissued. It will have Activestatus. Click on the green Active button next to the certificate. You will have these options: DownloadReissue and install, and Uninstall.

  • Download allows you to get your certificate in PFX format.

  • Reissue and install allows you to create a new certificate request and to replace the old certificate with a new one.

  • Uninstall removes the certificate from the server, although it remains active. If you use this option, you will be asked if you’d like to download the certificate (this is optional). The certificate will now be moved to the New tab and the certificate status will remain Active.

  • Use Reissue and install to have your certificate reissued and installed on the server.

  • The reissue process will be identical to the reissuance process for a certificate not installed using cPanel plugin.
